A phobia is an irrational or extreme fear of an object, place, situation, feeling, animal or thing. If your phobia is severe, you may organise your life around avoiding the thing that’s triggering it. This can impact on many aspects of your life and you may find that you are avoiding situations to prevent you from encountering your phobia.

All phobias can be viewed as learned behaviours. It is highly likely that there was a time in your life when you didn’t have your phobia, perhaps when you were a baby. This means that something has happened to cause your phobia and you have ‘learned to do it.’ This is good news because it follows that you can also learn how not to do it, how not to have your phobia.

There are many ways to work with phobias in hypnotherapy including desensitisation and finding the root cause. You may be pleasantly suprised to find that you can get rid of your phobia once and for all in just a few sessions.
